Stress: Nest Under Siege

Stress: The Stress state is illustrated with Conflictual Memories. The installation captures my childhood as nests besieged. As a child I was aware of much conflict and in particular of being Jewish in a very hostile environment. I wondered about my identity. Who am I? A Jew or a Christian? Albert or Nicklass? What are religions and ideologies about?

2. Response: This role-state is illustrated by the Mask Test portraying one’s identity. The art presents skiers in a Stratton Gondola. The internal exhibit represents a conflict, as the struggle of an emancipated slave rebelling at his master. While having fun in VT. I could not forget the reality of my childhood years. How do we solve the conflicts of religions and ideologies at war with each other?

3. This role-state is captured by the Image Behind the Mask. This installation symbolizes the discovery of the unconscious as a dialectic of emotions illustrated here by a spiral. The sculpture represents the scientific moral paradigm. The anxiety is about the correctness of the hypothesis. How do we test the premise?

4. Defense: I developed the Animal Metaphor Test as the means of identifying how the mind resolves conflict. Using metaphors sampling creativity validated the theory by identifying stories reflecting the person’s conflict resolution process. The test identifies my conflicts as a rooster in conflict between being a good leader versus being selfish, waking people up and also seeking adventures. Metaphors validated the conflict resolution nature of the unconscious.

5. Reversal: This state is illustrated with a Dream Metaphor. The art shows the positive outcome, the reconciliation of the humanities and the sciences, symbolized by the farm implements and three big colorful orbs images of my life events in their symbolic representation.

6. Compromise: This role-state is illustrated by a Short Story Metaphor. The Formal Theory rooster as a leader heals the divinities playing the card game of cultural stories allowing the integration of religions as partial and complementary discoveries of science, completed now by the formal analysis of stories.
